Younha Ends Legal Disputes with Her Agency

The legal dispute between Younha and her agency Lion Media came to a close as the court ruled that Lion Media must pay 100,000,000 million won to the singer.

Last April, the singer lodged a lawsuit case against Lion Media demanded the annulment of her contract and 400 million won.

Younha stating: "I was only a 15-year-old minor when I signed an exclusive contract with Lion Media, and that contract was extremely unfair because I didn't know anything about the realities of music and entertainment industry."

The Seoul Central District Court handed out its final decision at the court hearing held on Feb. 01.

A rep from legal representatives of Younha told Enews on the day:

- "Now Younha's legal dispute has come to an end. Her exclusive contract with Lion Media is now completely over."

After Younha′s initial suit, Lion Media countersued Younha for breaching her contract in July. The agency demanded that Younha must pay 1 billion won to compensate for their incurred losses due to her breach of contract. The two parties had been going through court arrangement procedures for a long time before the court ruled out the final verdict.

Younha debuted in Japan in 2004 "Yubikiri" and gained lots of popularity in the fans from the Hit Single "Houkiboushi"  the theme song from the Anime "Bleach"  first, ranking on the Oricon chart, before later earning widespread popularity in Korea with hit songs including "Password 486" in 2007.

[TV Report News korea] Lion Media Agency and an exclusive contract in dispute, Singer Younha (age 23 go younha) side that the party said proceeding in a positive way entry.


Friday morning December 02 at Seochodong Seoul Central District Court held the lawsuit trial, first repondents Younha then Lion Media verify their presence in the court, the 4th round of arguements closing date.


In the court day, the counsel settlement on both sides was known. Force adjustment and settlement in a similar field to the court, after the both party sides of proposed complaint, if no settlement within 2 weeks , the trial system will ended.


Younha's Attorney this afternoon TV reports :"it's controversial,i can not say it because it is litigation" said "Litigation underway in a positive entry because, sooner or later the case will end." said.


Before the settlement, last April Younha has filed a lawsuit with Lion Media reasons of unfair settlement revenue of exclusive contract presence. In July, Lion Media also filed lawsuit counterclaim asking damges suffered for breach of contract over a million were must paid.
